1 Address the complaint to the right person /department
Talk to the point be short, polite and firm
Ask for a tentative timeframe and an acknowledgement
2 If there is no satisfactory response, followup after a judicious time interval quote the earlier complaint/letter number and date. Never give up.
3 Learn the concept of escalation. The chain of command is necessarily to be followed
Get to know the official procedure and people facing similar problems. Keep looking for creative solutions for redressal
In case of notorious departments or officers don't take everything at face value but learn from the experience of fellow beings / make provision for multiple approaches to the problem. Use as many approaches as possible
4 Learn to build a paper trail i.e. build up a case through proper correspondence.
